The Wexford Festival Opera has be running since 1951, playing a central role in the cultural life of Ireland, in the world of Opera and Arts internationally. From small and humble beginnings it has achieved world-wide success and critical acclaim by demonstrating passion, innovation and a willingness to lead audiences and artists into neglected territories to explore the rich vein of operatic work worldwide.
Although Enniscorthy is not the main attraction during the Festival it is host to The inaugural Operetta and Dinner by Candlelight as part of the Wexford Opera Fringe Festival. It will be hosted by The Athenaeum Restoration Fund committee will take place in the Riverside Park Hotel & Leisure Club Hotel on Thursday 22nd October.
It not only offers a glass of bubbly but also a sumptuous three course meal, two splendid hours of operatic delights and a dance afeterwards. You will also have the chance to win one of the many impressive prizes.The Hotel has sponsored the raffle prize of a Gift Voucher for a two night stay in The Tullamore Court Hotel, with Breakfast on both mornings and a Dinner on the evening of your choice. Mary Hudson Rayn of Glamour Boutique has most generously donated a €100 Gift Voucher for her boutique and a bouquet of flowers for the best dressed lady.
