Guided Woodland Evening Walk

If you have ever wandered through a woodland, perhaps wishing you knew a little more about our Native Irish Trees, then you’re in the right place! Discover the world of our ancestors through the trees. It begins with the ancient Brehon Laws of Celtic Ireland and takes us to the folklore and traditions that remain strong here in Ireland to this day. A woodland walk may be a familiar treat for you, however there is a rich hidden history just waiting to be discovered. As you journey through the woods you’ll meet some of the Airig Fedó (the Nobles of the Woods) you’ll discover which tree was sacred to the warriors, why Yew Trees are found in every churchyard and which trees were favoured by Tanners, Blacksmiths and Clothe makers.

You’ll also learn a little about the healing powers of the trees, from age old herbal medicine to newly discovered scientific breakthroughs and just why trees are so important to our survival as a species. With your newly found appreciation and insight, you are then offered an opportunity to sit and listen, in the golden light, to the evening duet of the robin and the blackbird, accompanied with a complimentary bottle of Sparkling Wild About Nettle Cordial, which is a seasonal refreshment, made locally here in North Wexford.
