Planning your dream wedding? At the 4 star Riverside Park Hotel, we know that every couple wants their special day to be perfect. To help you along the way, here are our 10 Top Wedding Tips to make your big day stress free and unforgettable.
This can be the most challenging starting point. The 3 main things to consider are: Venue, who is performing at your ceremony & your entertainment.
Once you have your date, then you can contact other vendors.
When calculating what number of guests you might have on the day allow for 10% of this number to decline as no matter what date you pick, it will not suit everyone.
When your wedding deposit is paid, your 30 bedrooms on your wedding block go live for people to book. This is up to you who you wish to tell first.
I would strongly advise to leave your guests book for themselves as it is tough enough doing a table plan the week of the wedding without having to follow up regarding bedroom bookings as well.
You can have sweet tables, magic mirrors, 360 cameras etc. as additional vendors but when it comes to the likes of singing waiters, hypnotist etc. where we will need to allow for time for their performance, please get in touch and we can advise the best time for this to happen so it doesn’t take away from your timeline for your special day.
Make sure to send your wedding invitations 2 months before your wedding date. For anyone who is traveling overseas maybe even earlier.
For your RSVP date, make sure this is 1 month before your date. You will find your close family and friends will be the most challenging here as they will automatically assume you know they are going.
This takes place approx. 6/8 weeks before your wedding date. I will give you plenty of notice as the hen and stag party tend to fall around the same time.
This includes 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts. Therefore, for example, if you know you would like beef as one of your mains but are unsure weather to have the turkey & ham or seabass as the second option, have the turkey & ham and the seabass on the night of your tasting so you can decide afterwards which to go with.
Another example would be if you decide to go with our assiette which includes 2 mini desserts. On the night of the tastings try 6 mini desserts (2 x Assiettes) and decide after the tasting which 3 are your favourite.
I will organise a final details meeting with you approx. 1 month before your wedding date. This way you will have a better idea of what wedding package you have decided to go with as you will have a much better idea of what your guest numbers are.
I will go through the timeline of your day so you will know exactly what will be happening & when.
A table plan layout will also be given at this time for you to work away with.
You can bring you wedding items any time after 3pm on the Sunday before your wedding and we can store them for you for the week. Please ensure any leftover items are arranged for pick up the day after your wedding.
Once your wedding deposit is paid, this secures your wedding date. The next payment it’s until 6 weeks before your date where approx. 50% of the balance is due and then the remaining balance is due the morning after the wedding.
You can of course pay as much or as little in between as the more you pay and less that balance will be the morning after you wedding day.
