We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic team member to ensure that our Function Room is immaculately prepared for weddings and special events, providing an exceptional experience from start to finish. You’ll play a key role in creating memorable moments at Riverside Park Hotel for our guests by ensuring seamless service, from greeting guests warmly to ensuring the smooth delivery of food and drinks at a high standard. You’ll be part of a team committed to making every event truly special.

This role will include midweek & weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Punctuality & Presentation: Arrive promptly, dressed in the correct, clean uniform, ensuring you’re ready to make a positive impression on the guests.
• Event Readiness: Set up the Function Room to meet the specific needs of each wedding or event, ensuring everything is in place and ready for service.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure every detail, from table settings to decorations, meets the expectations of the wedding party or event coordinator.
• Food & Beverage Service: Deliver exceptional service of food and drinks to wedding and event guests, ensuring that all dietary requirements and preferences are catered to, and that service runs smoothly according to the event schedule.
• Guest Relations: Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests, ensuring their experience is special from arrival to departure.
• Event Coordination: Communicate effectively with the wedding or event planner to understand specific requirements and anticipate any special requests.
• Problem Solving: Handle guest concerns or issues discreetly and professionally, ensuring that any problems are resolved quickly, with minimal disruption to the event.
• Guest Satisfaction: Go above and beyond to anticipate the needs of the wedding couple, their families, and guests, ensuring a smooth and joyful celebration.
• Personal Grooming: Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance, reflecting the elegance and formality of the event.
• Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to, ensuring the safety of guests, staff, and event attendees at all times.
• Event Safety Compliance: Stay informed of emergency procedures and be prepared to act in the event of an emergency, such as during fire drills or other safety protocols.
• Event Specific Needs: Work closely with the kitchen, bar, and event management teams to ensure timely and efficient service that aligns with the event’s schedule.
• Training & Development: Attend training to stay informed about the latest trends in wedding and event services, continually improving your skills to exceed guest expectations.
• Adaptability: Be ready to handle any last-minute changes or additional tasks to ensure the event runs smoothly and successfully.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a food and beverage role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused attitude with the ability to provide exceptional service.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift and carry trays, plates, and other items as required.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent multitasking.
